About Mary
Mary Pinkard has dedicated her professional life to sharing her expertise in holistic wellness.
She teaches a qi gong practice that is accessible to all, informed by her mastery of music and education, and grounded in her deep passion for nature and building community.
Mary is certified as an NQA Level II instructor with the National Qigong Association (NQA), certified Sound Practitioner with the International School of Sound Therapy (ISTA) , Qi-Mag Feng Shui specialist, and training certificates in Yoga and Tai Chi. Mary teaches local Qigong classes and specialty Sound Immersions at GBMC’s Berman Cancer Center, Hopewell Cancer Support, and the Irvine Nature Center . Mary has worked on wellness projects with GBMC, St. Joe’s Hospital, the Nova Institute for Health, the Maryland Chapter of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, and Walter Reed Hospital. Mary has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Skidmore College and a Masters in Early Childhood Education from Towson University.
Mary’s mentors have included Qigong experts Mimi Kuo-Deemer, Dr. Kevin Chen at the University of Maryland, Daisy Lee, and Lee Holden, Christine Stevens, John Stuart Reid, Jonathan Goldman, and David Gibson.
When not sharing Qigong and Sound Immersions, Mary enjoys spending time with her husband, daughters, and enjoying the tranquility of their small farm.
